ALC Day 0, Reg Day, the adventure begins...

Going without a computer for a week would complicate updating
my live journal. For the next week, I will be switching to paper
and then transcribing back upon my return.

The rest of today will be on paper.
Transcribing from paper:
Ok, recruiter thinks I will start work on 16 June.
Its not going to cost me anything to go on ALC2 because Im prepaid.
I might as well go for it.
All Im out is time and if Im starting work a week later, I dont need to job
search.

Eeek ! Im not packed and today is reg day (day-0)

Write checks to pay bills, trip to San Jose for storage, then up to USF
for reg.

Im late for roadie meeting.
Ive been asigned to the traffic detail.
How embarrassing! My team captain is someone Id made passes and been rejected
(TWICE!)
I caught the last safety video showing of the day.
I ended up sitting near a guy I know from the LINUX world.
It was great to see Chris again.

I passed someone on the street a block from Reg.
He looked VERY familiar.
When he was 1/2 block away, I spun around and yelled "Ken?"

He turned and answered. I couldnt believe it.
Ive never seen "Sister Chicken Lady" in a blazer before.
I only knew him as Chicken Lady. The "business drag" almost fooled me.

Medical processed my paperwork and sent me on to tent assignment.
Being last roadie through the system, I ended up with my own tent.
This is good and bad.
Good because I can spread out inside.
Bad because I have to fold it up myself each morning.

I can set one up in pitch dark in about 2 minutes (I have done this!)
Folding it up to go back in bag is a lot harder though.

It was an all nighter getting packed & all.
I ended up packing lighter than usual.
Later I may regret this.
