ALC Day 2, King City

Day-2

(Santa Cruz-King City)
My tent was so wet, I rolled it up without its stuff bag and crammed it under
the seat of the traffic van.
Once the riders were off on their way, we packed up the traffic van and
hit a coffee place in downtown Santa Cruz (one that Starbucks hasnt killed off
yet)
Our crew included Ward (capt) whom we nicknamed "Cleaver".
We also have an "alpha male type" surprising that someone so testerone poisoned
could also be so gay. At first his hassling me was funny.
By day-2 it was getting old fast.
Theres Tobey's mom. I hit on Tobey last year (struck out).
Tobey now works for the foundation. Fortunately Tobey didnt tell his mom
anything beyond having met me.
We have someone who is a dead ringer for "Gidget".
Her name is Caradad & shes a sweetie and total vegan.
Donna claims that she is totally into the whole lesbian thing except for
the fact that she still prefers men to women. Donna is a blast.
Lyn would make an excellent Mom.
Michelle had a birthday this week. She also met a sweet guy on the ride
and they plan to go out some night on the ride.
Michael is also nice and far more together & organized than he lets on.
Rachael is the girl who just moved here from Las Vegas.
Her girlfriend is riding. Shes into surfing, motorcycles & golf.
King City was windy as usual but colder.
I had supper (late) with Robert Benscoter. He does several Aids rides a year.
His 5 yo son is HIV+.
After going back several times to see if there was finally some chicken,
we finally just held up the line and announced nobody was going anywhere till
we got chicken. We finally did.
I found that Mary, one of our ambulance drivers, is a ham but she didnt bring
her radio because she didnt know we were going to do anything.
Also 1 of the EMTs wants to become a ham. Ive gotten phone numbers on
cocktail napkins but when he gave me a surg glove with his email on it, well
that was a new one....
During dinner 1 of my back molars became sensitive to touch.
I popped my medical to have them look at it. Nothing looked obvious.
I bummed 2 4x4 gauze pads to pad the tooth so I could sleep.
Dr Guzby suggested that I see him next day for an antibiotic prescription.
He suspects that my partial root canal has awakened.
