Smash from con fame escaped Boulder Creek with his truck, laptop and the clothes on his back.
Hes also looking for a job in IT.

Basically, the bay area is surrounded by several fires with the CZU COmplex Fire has taken out from Pescadero
to Santa Cruz, from CA-1 to Skyline/CA-9.
East side of 9 is basically OK, west side is toast.

The HQ for Big Basin Park and visitors centre, historical building is gone.

The fire has not gotten all the way to Skyline yet.

Felton & east are OK, but those outside of town to the west of Felton are toast.
They managed to protect UCSC.

Troye from KSW lost machne shop, steam engine collection, at least a half dozen vintage printing presses,
type, a linotype, an intertype type casting machine (Used for making type), molds for making type,
technical library of old machines and tools and Cthulu only knows what else.

This is not just a personal loss for him, but a loss to humanity as much of this stuff got trotted out for living history gig.

Roaring Camp being east of Felton is OK.

The fire has not crossed Pesacadero Creek, so Im hopeful about Aunt Jans place.

The air in the bay area is improving gradually.

Up north, the LNU COmplex, multiple fires have burned together forming a ring of fire around Lake Berryessa.
They made grest progress on it yesterday.
It jumped I-80 and hit north Fairfield & Vacaville.
Travis AFB evacuated non critial personel off the base.

The SCU is east of San Jose.
Again multiple lightning sparked fires that grew together.
Theres one more between the main fire and 101 near Gilrow that havent grown together yet.
Its basically from Sunol to Gilroy, almost to I-5 wet past Mined Rd.
The evacuation zone is I-5 to US 101, to the SJ border.
East Milpitas is under warning, with the fire burning on the back side of Mission Peak.
Its well into Henry Coe State Park.

Due to geography, I dont think it will get as far as CA-156, therefore Casa de Fruita & Norcal Renn site will be OK.

As of this morning, the basement no longer smalls like a campfire.
Last year, our whole house reeked of smoke for weeks, despite being nowhere near any of the fires.

Much of the damage to Sonoma Co was basically every thing that didnt burn in the last 5 years.

We are praying that nothing happens in Mendocino CA.
We are making monthly trips to work on SUllys old place.
Id been hoping that we wouldnt have to deal with septic systems for a few years while we dealt with other things.
Alas, septic systems (there ar emultiple on the site) have risen to priority.
ERG!
more later!
