2003-May-29, Thursday 20:49Thursday night radio nets went OK.
Usual SNAFU.
West county net; tonights "net control op" flaked and Jerry had to fill in.
My signal was lousy. I need a better antenna set up.
KARO/ECHO wenr better, at least my signal hit better.
Countywide net couldnt get itself together at all.
They were going to try and run the whole thing from the county fair and it looks like they totally
forgot.
SF-ACS went better, although nobody stuck around afterwards for emergency message handling drill.
Tonights question of the week was : Nearest, hospital, police, fire, present response zone,
& how fast you could deploy if called out tonight. Freind of mine from the AIDS Ride got me started
checking into the SF-ACS net even though Im out of the city.
The ride is in 2 weeks and unless I can arrange transport back from LA at the end, I will have to
cancel out. I really wanted to go. It would be an escape from my present life.
A week of near chaos to be lost in....
I suppose this makes me a chaos junkie.
It would explain why working SF cons is more fun than attending.
If the interview for that gig hadnt fallen through last week, Id be able to go.
Its a magical trip. If ever I needed the magic, its now.
Added a few freinds to my LJ profile.
Wonder whatg will happen when they find out? Could be entertaining....
I wrote a parody in honor of the gopher/penguin who was on ice duty at BayCon & ran over the
con chair. Wonder if I have the cahones to perform it at the BayCon picnic.
Well if I go on ALC, Ill miss picnic, if I miss ALC then I get to go to picnic.
Guess its not a total loss missing ALC, just a 90% loss.
Got 3 jobs mailed to be but they all call for skills I dont have.
