As usual, life is strange.

We are getting my older niece Alison ready for her move to Pullman Washington.

For the 1st time in a number of years, I am commuting over the SF Bay Bridge.
Its not as ugly as one might think.
I do resent the new span for what it represents, however.

Something wakes me up a bit before 5 in the morning and at that point I might as well head in for work.
I am by no means, a "morning person", but rather than having managers complain about my late arrival, Im usually 1st in my group to arrive.
The current transit strike has helped move my schedule up a bit.
I cant believe it, Im making it to work by 7 in the morning pretty easily.

My present client is an advertising firm. They send mail, lots of it, terabytes of it.
As typical for a high tech firm, we have the usual coffee, but we also have OJ, oatmeal, bread, honey & peanut butter.
This speeds my departure from home bot having to worry about breakfast.

The TV in the break room seems permanently set to the "Travel Channel". Most of the programs on it mid day are about weird food.
Recently, the host of the show tried "stinky tofu" and try as he might, couldnt eat it.
Based on the shows on that channel, Im now afraid to eat any new foods. Deep fried tarantula? Ill pass.
Im convinced the wellness committee is behind this program choice.

The "Baggage Wars" show was pretty funny one morning. All these people bought unclaimed luggage, expecting to make a fortune and usually it was just junk. One guy got a crate with buckets of cow eyes & pig fetuses in formaldehyde.
We took them to a "curiosity shoppe" in Montreal to figure out what to do with them.
This shop was right out of the Addams Family.
The guy behind the counter in an old double breasted medical smock with a yellow streak bleached in his hair.
I think he was Addams Family material too.
His suggestion was to bottle each item in formaldehyde in specimin bottle and sell them for $40 a jar.

Pride has come and gone.

Im gearing up for July 4th.
Now that Steve has quit the fireworks business, last year I started working on the July 4th for the city of El Cerrito.
Its produced by the FM radio station i helped build in high school.
Tonight after work, I set up the microwave link back to the studio, and after work on the 3rd, we will broadcast the sound check from the park.
Hopefully, we will broadcast the whole July 4th from Cerrito Vista Park on KECG 88.1 El Cerrito and 97.7 San Pablo.
Both feeds are available on the net
