my feet UGH!
2003-May-30, Friday 21:32As this year has progressed, its become harder & harder to wear shoes.
Dunno wassup but an hour in shoes and my feet start getting ulcerated.
This even happens in sandals. Apparently they must be TOTALLY barefoot.
I spent most of BayCon barefoot, much to the annoyance of FLARE & hotel security.
Last day of the con, FLARE threatened my dept head that if I didnt put something on,
they would duct tape sandals to my feet.
Always being one to screw with FLARE, I did the only thing I could.
Just to be a smartass, I covered the bottom of both feet with a single layer of duct tape.
What started out being a smart assed stunt ended up being heaven.
My feet felt FABULOUS ! Totally touch responsive, protected, and no rubbing, the entire thing moved
with the skin as if it was part of the skin.
Load out dawned and I realized I need more than tape on my feet. Back went proper shoes & socks.
That night (Tue) at bedtime, my feet were raw.
Sheets of white dead but moist skin peeled off leaving feet raw.
Tonight they are recovering. I hope enough to get back in shoes at the museum tomorrow.
Im not sure FLARE really understands the foot problem.
Well, if they dont, well they can just sniff my socks!
