texxgadgetI worked on a few things around the house.
Sanded some water stains off the hardwood.
Looks much better. Got more sanding done on the cutting board
that got broken back in the late 70s. I glued it and now need to sand it.
Mom should be thrilled (I hope)
Evening time I popped by NIMBY to hang with the fire dancers.
Being a non rainy night, we were out in the courtyard under the bridge crane.
Several people were dancing with battery powered LED poi.
Roger set himself on fire (AGAIN?). He insists on using white gas.
Another guy got his poi wrapped around his wrists and we had to put him out too.
Ian & co were at it again. Ian danced with his rope dart. Hard to explain.
Ill explain it in another post. Basically imagine a burning wick assyon a
wire loop off the end of 12 ft of rope. It twirls and from time to time
gets flicked towards the audience only to get yanked back at just the last second.
Its kinda scary having this flame come at you and then yank away.
Ian is quite the inventor. Hes still debugging the design for the propane
rope dart.
For burning man this year, they are working on a new game.
Imagine the "Dance Revolution" game.
Imaging the dancers in those silver suits that airport firemen wear.
Now imagine that besides getting taunted when you mis a dance step,
you also get blasted with a propane powered flame thrower!
The game is called Dance Dance Imolation.
This is so far out there that thye have to get permission from Burning Man
to do it. Intweresting since Burning Man has almost no rules.
There is nothing like watching people take turns wearing the suit and
taking their turn getting blasted with a flame thrower.
These people are crazy. These people are fun.
