MS Veritas

Started the morning at Microsoft in Mtn View catching a presentation
on Veritas Backup Exec-10.

For a windows environment, its a pretty decent package and Ive seen
the screens so i feel pretty comfortable should I need to use it.
Another new skill learned.

They fed us breakfast and gave us trial versions.

I ended up trouble shooting why the presenters laptop kept shutting down.
The slot down the middle of the table in the presentation room had a
string of power strips daisychained in a row.
The firemarshall would be so amused - NOT!
1 was unplugged and her presentation apparently was running down
laptop batteries. That fixed, she was able to continue.

When I 1st got there, there was a mob of people signing in.
My badge was not there.
Then I read the signin sheet that was upside down from me
(Isnt dyslexia wonderful?)
These people were there for an SQL conference.
Where was Veritas ?
Building 2, they got bumped.

Got into work, Tom gave me a funny look.
I was still wearing my Microsoft visitor sticker.
Hed been up til 5am the night before.
He gave me a list of things to do and went home early.

Ive been getting out of there late most nights,
late night chats on ham radio keep me awake as I drive home.
