I keep saying Ill get around to posting to LJ and getting caught up.
Well I finally did.
I havent posted since I was still in Seattle.
Its been amazing, the last few months.
Hectic but fun anyway.
Ill have to catch up in "flashback mode".
Last last Tuesday, my dental work got so bad I had to drop everything.
I keep saying Ill get to work on the dental thing as soon as I have time.
I posted a cryptic message to my workgroup, dosed up with 8 Ibuprofin and called the
emergency night number to the UCSF dental clinic.
The guy I got agreed to see me 9am Wed AM.
Since parents were going to SF anyway, I hitched a ride with them and we got to use diamond lane.
I found out Im in a lot more trouble than I thought.
The abcess was way bigger than a walnut and my BP is 155 over 105.
Normal is 120 over 60. Its official, Im hypertensive.
They worked out a treatment plan and got me into the oral surgery centre to drain the thing.
This is when the insurance snafu happened.
At 1st the insurance co didnt think I was covered for dental.
Meanwhile the pain which came in waves was ramping up again.
Its funny how you are literally rolling on the floor in pain on the floor of the dental surgery
waiting area and the twit behind the counter asks if you are all right.
I was polite. Through clenched teeth I groaned 1 words at a time that I wouldnt be there if I
was all right.
They dosed me on pennicillin & a huge ibuprofin.
Later shot me with gawd knows what, but started working before the stuff really kicked in.
Then at the pharmacy some distance away, another insurance snafu and the pharmacy computer crashed. When I finally got the scrip filled, I popped that 1st vicodin REALLY fast.
Then I took the N Judah back to downtown and actually got some work done.
I was amazed how clear my mind was once it kicked in.
As it turned out, I only used the 1 tab and a couple inubrofin since.
The antibiotic on the other hand has been a pain.
I actually got several hours of work done once I got to the co lo.
I finally found out last night that you are supposed to take clindamycin with at least 8oz
water. Nobody told me.
